When people think of a Humane Society, they tend to picture a building filled with animals in need of loving homes. And that picture would be correct! But what does it cost to maintain an animal shelter?
Essential products and services needed each month to keep our organization running:
- 40 pounds of dry cat food. 10 pounds of wet cat food. 80-100 pounds of kitty litter.
- Cleaning Supplies. Blankets and towels. Toys for animal enrichment. Office supplies.
- Veterinary bills – undoubtedly our biggest cost. Vaccinations, medications, surgeries, dewormer, ear mite treatment, wound cleaner, probiotics for sick and stressed out tummies, eye drops…this list goes on.
Some of our income comes from grant money, but a majority of our funds come from donations. This is where you come in! We need smart, innovative people who have a knack for raising money in our community. We need volunteers who like to dream up new ideas, volunteers who will step up to the plate and run fundraising events for the general public. Volunteers who are passionate about educating others about animals.
The fundraising team will be be asked to dedicate 5-10 hours each month towards event planning and implementation.
